Many Europeans and Latin American countries I think find it hard to embrace American foitball due to its name. Firstly it is called "football" which is already a popular game that uses the foot and secondly it being called "American" which restricts it on an international scene.

Do you think that more people may accept it if it was marketed internationally as Gridiron?

It might, but I don't think many people in the States care. The league would love to see it happen for the money it would bring in as an international sport, but the fans don't give a damn.

It's only really the UK that calls football "Football". Most of Europe and S America call football "Soccer"
