Table top prototype.

Biggest whiny ass hater gripe I see from people trying to get this fund raiser to fail (because the are anti-fans of gamesas): no actual product to show.

you guys may lack the capacity to put out a video game right now, but you have more than enough capacity to put out a board game ....

just hammer up some mechanics that hit somewhat close to what you have in mind for the Video Game, bang out some urban decorated .PDF hex maps backed up by the concept art you guys have decorating the Black Isle site, then zip it up and put it out as a free download so people can print it out at home and goof around with a table top version.

It would shut the haters right the fvck up and do wonders to shore up the disbelief that you guys will actually put something out. hay, "OC" ..... i got something for ya right here! _|_ (^.^) _|_

If they wanted to make a board game, then I'm guessing they would have made a board game. Image

HOLY SHIT! REALLY?!?! I NEVER WOULD HAVE GUESSED WITHOUT YOU POINTING THAT OUT!!!!!!!"

As a promotional supplement, not as a commercial product.

They dont have the capacity to assemble a video game program right now, but are quite capable of designing one: if you can't run then walk, if you cant walk then crawl ... the important thing is not to do what you want, it is to do what you can.

They can make a basic table top game with what people they do have ATM. hay, "OC" ..... i got something for ya right here! _|_ (^.^) _|_

Really? I don't recall the original Mortal Kombat being a table top game and they had only a handful of people to make it. They never said PV13 was going to remain an mmo either so why do you assume that it's impossible for them to make the game? Because the video shows 3 people? Really? since when does any video by any company ever showcase more than the project leads? It is all about what you want to do too, no one makes a game because they can, they make it because they want to. Image

dude, the Black Isle site states that what they are looking for is money to flesh out the team with the skills they are currently lacking (I notably see a complete lack of dedicated programers and 3D artists), once they get that issue solved to the level that they can put together a working prototype ... they will.

they have got all the architects they need to design the game's blueprint, but architects rarely make for good construction labor.

as it is they aint got shit for a hard product to show, I'm just pointing out that the basic mechanics for a turn based RPG are mostly just numbers and rules for what can and can not be done .... which in turn is all you really need to make a basic board game.

just take those mechanics and have Jeff knock out some maps / character sheets that people can download (for free) and print out as a visual aid backing up those mechanics. it wouldn't be much but it would solve the issues people have with this fundraiser being mostly vapor (which it honestly is ATM) and would probably win over a few fence sitters that would like to donate but have got very little to go off of besides the bull shit haters are filling their ears with. hay, "OC" ..... i got something for ya right here! _|_ (^.^) _|_
