Hello, I'm quite new to the forums, however I have a question that any help would be greaty appreciated.

I'm a huge Skyrim fan, and still play it here heading into 2013. However, I have recently started playing again after a 7 month hiatus, due to the fact I could not download the lag patch. This was due to having slow sattelite internet. Well my ISP upgraded their speeds, and I was able to download patch 1.06 for Skyrim, which seemed to clear up the problems until now... After doing some Googl'ing, I see that there is a patch 2.01 for Skyrim, however if I start the game while signed into PSN it does not prompt me to update to 2.01, and if I delete the Game Data and 1.06 patch, it prompts me to download the 1.06...

Any Ideas why my console is not trying to Dl the most recent update?

For some reason patch 1.2 showed as patch 2.01 for console players. We've had a few new patches since, the latest available on PS3 being patch 1.7. However, UESP notes the following:
While downloading the update, PS3 users may be told that they are downloading the 1.6 update, but the in-game menu will confirm that the update is for version 1.7.

It's possible that you're experiencing this problem. Go to the settings menu in the game and check if it shows the correct number. If it does, then you're good to go

Ahh, so 1.06 would be the newest? I saw where 1.7 ended up never coming out on Ps3, just 360, so Beth made 1.6 and 1.7 all in 1.06, correct?

Yes, it was 1.6 that never came out and they rolled its features into 1.7 (which might show as 1.6 for some users, as UESP noted).

Correction: I did some googling and it is indeed patch 1.06. Why this strange numeration, I have no idea... But your game seems to be fully updated.

2.01 is for Europe, different countries use different patch numbers or some thing like that.
