Poison potion

Post » Tue Jan 01, 2013 9:30 pm

Hey all.
I have started an assassin/ alchemist build and was looking for a recipe for a decent potion one that I could hopefully grow the ingredients myself in my garden in lakeview manor. I only have the small house at the moment but may get around to including the greenhouse once I get my money up
I have already grown ingredients for
heal - blisterwort and wheat
Paralyze - Canis root and swamp fungal pod

Thanks for any assist

River betty, crimson nirnroot and hangingmoss have higher multipliers. Therefore, it is logical that if you would mix these items you would gain a more potent poison. Therefore, it is logical that this poison would a potent poison.

Hanging Moss? That has no bonus effect, nor does it have a related effect to the other ingredients.

Furthermore, I don't think the effects of River Betty and Crimson Nirnroot stack. I believe the CN, being stronger, will win out.

My personal favorite is Canis Root, Imp Stool, and Deathbell, for a nice poison of paralyze and damage heath. it's the only poison I bother using anymore.

My personal favorite:

Canis Root + Mora Tapinella + Imp Stool = Paralyze & Drain Health

That's my favorite too. excellent poison in the field, fetches good coin, and helps level alchemy very nicely.

For healing, use Blue Mountain Flower + Wheat instead. Fortify Health + Restore Health.

For Fire Resistance: Dragon's Tongue + Snowberries
For Frost Resistance: Purple Mountain Flower + Snowberries
For Shock Resistance: Glowing Mushroom + Snowberries
For Magic Resistance: Lavender + Tundra Cotton

These are good to carry around, just in case you meet a dragon or a mage. You can make Dragon's Tongue + Purple Mountain Flower + Snowberries for a potion with 2 effects. etc.

Salt becomes plentiful after you play the game a bit. You may also like Deathbell + Red Mountain Flower + Salt: Slow + Damage Health (good money and often useful)
I also like Garlic + Salt + Juniper Berries = Regenerate Magicka + Regenerate Health. Useful and expensive. But you can't grow garlic or salt.

Nice. This should do more damage than canis root + mora tapinella + imp stool that I have been using.

[edit] canis root + imp stool + deathbell does more immediate damage, but canis root + mora tapinella + imp root does more total damage. In my opinion, that makes Mahnogard's formula a better choice in most cases.

One more poison you might like.

Imp Stool + Mora Tapinella + Deathbell = Damage Health + Lingering Damage Health. This does not paralyze but does more damage. Maybe shoot your enemy with this one after you paralyze him.

I use what ever I have...for the most part. I do however, find myself hunting for Imp Stool, Orange Dartwing and River Betty. Using this combination behind a Weakness to Poison and it really takes off.

I got to thinking about the Crimson Nirnroot and done some quick testing. Interestingly... It seems that, while the CN has a x3 modifier and the RB has 2.5, on Damage Health...The RB will win out on every combination containing CN.

This is my favorite all-purpose poison, since all of the ingredients can be grown.

This one will let you produce the most expensive potions from your inventory. Just add in the number of ingredients you have and it will tell you how best to maximize what you have. https://arrington.me/alch/

Note : This is basically a means of powerleveling so use it at your will.

As stated, Mora + Imp + Death Bell is the best for general purposes, and the ingredients are numerous.

For other purposes, such as dragons, Any Lingering Damage + Damage Health will do.

Warning ! Stupid comment coming.

You can grow up ingredients on your house because of the Hearthfire DLC right ?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, a really like a paralysis poison, it is very useful. As stated above, using Canis Root + Mora Tapinella + Imp Stool would be the best choice, in my opinion.

Yes after you build the small house you can then create a small garden which gives you the ability to grow your own ingredients
