Some Misc. Questions

Post » Thu Jan 03, 2013 2:49 am

Just some questions I thought I would put in one thread instead of doing them all individually...its just more logical this way...

#1-I went to Dawnstar to return to the DB sanctuary & there was 2 dragons in the sky that I had to battle! I'm level 25 & this has never happened..is this just a rare moment or a glitch?

#2-Being a Khajiit I wanted to marry a Khajiit but I've yet to read that any are marry-able...true or false?

#3-Shadowmere was helping me as he always does (love him!!) & at the end of the fight, he ran off to a lil area by himself...he's never done that to me..could it been he needed to heal & wanted to be out of sight for a minute? I've done this during a fight where I need to "retreat" to heal up & let things get back up

#4-Do you ever reach the end of a faction quest line? I read on uesp that there is only so many quests for each faction so what happens when you've done them all ? Are you just done with the quests or are you able to leave the faction??

#5-Are the DLC's gameplay added unto your CURRENT game & character or are they like playing a seperate game where you can have a new character & new game? I'm wanting to buy some of the DLC but confused a lil..

#6-It seems I am coming across more & more dragons! Every time I turn around I have a dragon to kill...uuugh...My other character who is a level 28 did not beat as many dragons as my assasin level 25 has!! Is this random or because of how I'm RP my character so things I've done & come across make this occur?

#7-What happens when you reach level 81 ? Are you completely done with all quests or do you reach this level no matter what? Or must you finish all quests to reach this level? Can you play the game even tho you've topped off all skills or by that point is it useless ? In AC even tho you've beat all the sequences you can still play & fnish stuff you couldnt while trying to do all the main stuff...is skyrim similiar?

#8-I'm playing the DB quest line & I'm just done with it...its tedious...is there a way to end the Night Mother or the DB period & just be done with it?

Thanks again! Hope I didnt ask to much at once!! :ermm:

 :stare:

You can reach level 81 even before talking to Alvor. You could just skip it & do so much side quests to reach level 81. Your adventure is yours; do things in the order you like the most.

1. It's rare, but it happens. Nothing to worry about.

2. Unfortunately, there are no marriable Khajiit. You can still marry someone of another race if you want.

3. Not sure.

4. The main questline of every faction does end. However, they offer radiant quests that you can repeat forever: for example book searching for Urag or slay-the-monster quests from the Companions.

5. They're added to the current game.

6. It's completely random. Fast travel seems to attract dragons though, maybe this is the reason?

7. You get to level 81 when you max out all skills. This isn't related to quests in any way. You can still play the game after you get to level 81, or after you finish the MQ, or both. Personally I think it might be boring - most enemies scale up to ~50 level, then you just get more and more powerful, but they stay the same. It's up to you though. There's a few achievements to be grabbed at those high levels, if that's your thing.

8. You mean The Dark Brotherhood Forever? It's a radiant quest, you can repeat it ad infinitum. If you're bored, just don't approach the Night Mother anymore.

1; Just a random event, I've had it happen to me quite a few times.

2; There are no Khajiit's to marry to the dismay of many fans.

3; Could be a number of things, I wouldn't give it much thought, as long as he's still with you, it's likely he detected another hostile in the area and went to attack it, he can be very aggressive.

4; You do, once done you can do radiant quests associated with that faction which are just random simple quests designed to keep you busy, other than that you're done when you're done.

5; It isn't separate from, it's added to the main game.

6; Not at all, just random, I don't see as many dragons as I use to and I'm level 81.

7; You're not forced to level up to 81, in order to do so you have to level up all your skills to 100 so you have to go out of the way I little. Once you reach level 81 you can still play the game as normal, in fact you can level up to 81 before doing any quests at all.

8; Before you went to the sanctuary you had a chance to report to a certain guard, can't remember the name but then a new quest would start where you go and kill all the DB members and end any chance of doing the faction quests, other than that you can either just make your way through it or just ignore it. I personally loved the DB questline by to each their own I guess.

Hope this helps.

1 - That has happened to me before. Couldn't tell you whether it's meant to or not.

2 - Pass. I don't play as a Khajiit.

3 - My horse (not Shadowmare) runs off all the time. Sometimes I assume it's because it has taken so much damage and needs to get away.

4 - Yes, the actually faction 'quest lines' do end. But there still miscellaneous quests you can do for the factions afterward (at least from what I've seen).

5 - They are added to your current game. You are then able to do those quests as your current character.

6 - I find if you don't quick travel you tend to come across more dragons when wandering about because you are wandering about more.

7 - The levels are your characters level. Not the games level. When you reach level 81 you are as strong and smart as you can be. It doesn't change whether or not people will keep giving you quests. You can still keep doing things even if you can't level up.

8 - If you get sick of a quest line, just leave it. Don't continue doing it. That's the beauty of this game. You can do what you want, when you want. There is not a way to skip to the end of a quest line without doing the quests, but why would you want to?

Actually it is better to try and find an existing thread on a subject or just start a new on for your q...

#1-I went to Dawnstar to return to the DB sanctuary & there was 2 dragons in the sky that I had to battle! I'm level 25 & this has never happened..is this just a rare moment or a glitch?
Rare. Two Dragons are not a glitch, they are possible.

#2-Being a Khajiit I wanted to marry a Khajiit but I've yet to read that any are marry-able...true or false?
There are no Khajiit marriages.

#3-Shadowmere was helping me as he always does (love him!!) & at the end of the fight, he ran off to a lil area by himself...he's never done that to me..could it been he needed to heal & wanted to be out of sight for a minute? I've done this during a fight where I need to "retreat" to heal up & let things get back up
Chances are her health got low. Most NPCs will flee when that happens for a bit.

#4-Do you ever reach the end of a faction quest line? I read on uesp that there is only so many quests for each faction so what happens when you've done them all ? Are you just done with the quests or are you able to leave the faction??
At the end of each Faction you start Radiant Quests. These consist of 10 quests that will rotate forever.

#5-Are the DLC's gameplay added unto your CURRENT game & character or are they like playing a seperate game where you can have a new character & new game? I'm wanting to buy some of the DLC but confused a lil..
You can add DLC at any time during a playthrough. You do not need to restart anew.

#6-It seems I am coming across more & more dragons! Every time I turn around I have a dragon to kill...uuugh...My other character who is a level 28 did not beat as many dragons as my assasin level 25 has!! Are you Fast traveling more with this character? Well, there you go.

The leveling system has absolutely nothing to do with quests. You can reach level 81 and never do a single quest. I never understood why one would want to get to 81 in the first place. You character is leveled by what you do. (ie, the skills you use) A specialized chartcter that only uses a select group of skills will...on average...cap out around level 50 something.

#8-I'm playing the DB quest line & I'm just done with it...its tedious...is there a way to end the Night Mother or the DB period & just be done with it?
Any faction questline can end at any time. Just walk away and forget about it.

Shadowmere is a he in Skyrim. Or else Astrid doesn't know the first thing about horses, which is more likely if you ask me.

It's her. She doesn't know anything about the Dark Brotherhood either.

Besides, the horse isn't named Shadowstud.
