A Roleplayer's Wishlist

Post » Wed Jan 02, 2013 8:50 pm

So, I've looked around the last five pages and have not seen a Wishlist from a Roleplayer's perspective, therefore I'm now making a thread where the ROLEPLAYERS can make suggestions and wishes to the game.
As usual in MMOs it is three groups of people, there's the PVE, PVP and the RP groups. And in every MMO nowadays it is our group that is alienated.
Now since I've put my last faith in MMOs on this game I'd want this game to be great for us aswell.

I'd like to remind everyone about keeping the thread constructive and free of childish behavior (such as but not limited to trolling and drama).
There is not much info out on the game yet so some of the things I mention might be ingame already.

So I'll start out and then I'll let the other roleplayers come with their suggestions.
(Bear in mind that I'm Norwegian so this is not my first language)

1. Emote Chat (The chat where you can write the actions of your character such as "Elena lifts her mug only to slowly take a sip from it)

2. Create our own chat channels ( In order to make RP communities a bit closer to one another)

3. Toggle Walk (Kinda obvious)

4. Cross Faction Chat. ( I know this is out of the question due to the pvpers ruining for us, but I'll just put it here)

5. Interactive Environment (Chairs, Benches, Food and so on!)

6. Many animations! (For example when you take a drink or something like that, your character actually will take up a mug and start drinking)

7. Taking on jobs. (Like becoming a guard in a town, and if he spots someone trying to steal or anything else, he is then allowed to engage that player in combat or jail him)

Alright so I'll update the list as soon as I get an idea. But there's also the whole idea about the megaserver.
I have heard it is not 100% sure that Zenimax will go through with it, yet that is only a rumor.

But if they decide to go for the traditional shard system, then I'd love to have roleplay tagged servers.

So there you go guys, you can continue now! (Not sure if there's so many Roleplayers on the forums yet though D:)

So I am speaking with the roleplay community on WoW at the moment, and a suggestion I liked from that part was that we should have four servers.

One PvP, RP, PvE and RP-PVP server, that way you have one of each kind and from there you can use the mega server technology on each of those four to bring everyone into what they
like the most of those.

*Sniff, sniff* I smell an underlying theme here!
Detection of anti-faction-lock people has increased to : 48.
I kid, I hope your intentions are well, I'm just on high alert for the faction-lock junkies. I like a lot of your suggestions, 3 - 5 - and 6 are all good ones I can see happening.

This is a great solution to the biggest obstacle I foresee in anything related to roleplaying (and enjoying the game as a whole for that matter). But that specific subject does have its own thread(s).

I think music ought to be emphasized. The Bard's College must have been the first around in centuries, because the bards of Skyrim are absolute garbage. Players ought to have access to the same ability to play music as NPCs might as well.

I suppose I can't expect a deep free-form music system (unless I offer to build one for them myself... 12 mile drive there), but a few good songs would be nice.
