Right now I am thinking about upgrading to a newer video card I currently have an AMD ATI Hawk Radeon 5770. I am noticing with newer games such as Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3, I no longer meet recommended hardware specs. I would like to stick with AMD, I have liked it so far. Possibly another one with crossfire support so I can keep them both and get a dual screen set up. My system is as follows...

As for your CPU, I'd suggest you upgrade attempt to upgrade that after you attempt to play these games with a newer graphics card. If all is well, then good, if not, then you can get a new processor (which is almost always a more expensive affair).

Thankfully, you wouldn't have to upgrade motherboards, since that i5 would share sockets with any newer Intel offerings.

If his processor is a Core i5 750 (which is 2.67 GHz so I'm assuming that's what it is) it wouldn't be compatible with Sandy or Ivy Bridge. The i5 750 uses LGA 1156, the new processors use 1155.

And his motherboard is 1156.

That said, it's got plenty of overclocking potential. I can get my 750 to 3.8 or 3.9 GHz without any trouble, but I rarely bother anymore.

Yeah, with the proper cooling he could probably get that i5 up that high.
