Quest Mods, When do experienced mod users install them?

Post » Thu Jan 03, 2013 10:13 pm

I am starting a new play through and like quest mods. Sometimes I have read that they may add instability to the overall game. (I read this about moonpath, and others)

So do users generally install them all before they start a new game or do people add them later on to an ongoing game to avoid issues. I have read people suggesting to also disable them when you complete the quest.

What is the best advice for somebody looking to install quests?

Depends on what issues you want to avoid. :)

Alot depends on what the mod does, if it modifies vanilla content, then, installing it right from the get-go is the best plan. if it doesn't touch vanilla content, then the choice is up to you. I prefer to have my mod list fully fleshed out at the start of a new game, as simply altering load list/order can introduce bugs all on it's own. If the game is unstable with your current list, need to find out which ones introduce the instability, and find something else....
