Can you do it?

I have a 55ft ethernet cable that I can run through my living room to my modem, but I'd rather not stare at a blue cable stretching across my house for months. I was wondering if I could pick up a smaller cable and run it from my desktop to my Xbox and somehow connect it to the internet that way?

I'm not entirely sure about that but what about those wireless adapters? Would one of those work?

Last time I checked they were at least $100, and after all those Steam Holiday sales my wallet is hurting enough.

At the moment I would rather run my huge cable across the house than spend the money for one of those. It's not really a big deal though. I have a few months of LIVE left and I just got Halo 4. This is going to be my last hoorah on the 360 for now.
