Do Puppies And Kittens Belong in Skyrim?

Post » Sun Jan 06, 2013 9:40 pm

Lets say they did a Hearthfire part and one of the new features was the ability, to adopt puppies and kittens. How would you guys feel about that? Personally wenches, wives, kids, and companions can only offer so much companionship.

Not kittens. Adopting a Khajiit is like having a Nord follow you everywhere, lick your feet, pee in your garden and whine at 3am ...
But puppies, sure. There are already dogs and other pets, so why not puppies?

I'm talking about actual kittens and not baby/child Khajjit.

I'd have a fun time shouting kittens off of mountains, hills, bridges, precipices, cliffs etc.

Nah don't worry, I'd spare the pups.

Cyclone shout and a litter of kittens though, that's just too much fun.

They should, but this thread is about adding puppies and kittens as pets.

A bit silly if you ask me. Kittens and puppies don't exactly fit in the more or less 'gruff' setting of skyrim.

Imagine if the developers implemented young sabercat cubs.

When felines have cubs, their mothers become over protective and even more aggressive. Imagine slaying a sabercat only to discover a litter of several saber kitten nearby destined to starve to death, now that their mother is gone.

The backlash from tree huggers and animal lovers would be all bad publicity for Skyrim, even worse than allowing killable young NPCs. That's the kind of screwed up world we're living in. People feel sorry for polygons and pixels on screen, while famine an wars kill milion of REAL people on the other side of the planet.

They would be a fine addition to the food chain.

It's kinda like a grown man living in the woods and fighting bears with a knife, asking for a manicure.

Quite often when I return to my mansion at Lakeview manor I'm met by marauding giants, kidnappers, bandits or even dragons(not all at once you understand). To say nothing of the strange characters I actually find inside the house on occasion, so no it really isn't all that safe and no place for cute fluffy creatures to reside. I even tried using one of these house carl types to keep an eye on the place but he was next to useless and I had to let him go.You just can't get the staff you know! LOL

Considering how ofter the Dragonborn's spouse gets kidnapped, it's not very safe at all.
