PC Game Suggestions

Post » Mon Jan 07, 2013 9:12 am

I bought my new PC and it should be arriving within the week. I've been out of the wonderful world of PC gaming for sometime now and I need some suggestions. I would prefer they be PC exclusive but anything would do.

Right now I either own or plan on purchasing these game;

The Withcer
StarCraft II
Fallout Collection
Amnesia
Company of Heroes
Dear Esther
Little Inferno
Arma II (Mostly for Day Z)
Little Inferno
Lone Survivor
FTL
Civilization V
Minecraft
Crusader Kings 2

I would try Guild Wars 2 if I were you. One of the devs put it best when it was in development (Which still lived up too it too):

"If you like MMOs, try out Guild Wars 2. If you don't like MMOs, you really should try out Guild Wars 2."

Well, assuming you do not have it that is :hehe:

Metro2033. Even though I'm a Crysis fan, Metro graphics and story surpasses Crysis. The game's graphics is nothing short of astounding. It has ALL the conceivable next-gen shaders today, and they are extremely well done. The only drawback is that you need a monster rig to run it in all its glory, DX11 and all.

Also try Mount & Blade: Warband. That game is the only game that knows what mount combat is.

Remember, Guild Wars 2 is Free to Play, too. And it should now be in the 20-30 dollar range to buy, since it's no longer "new." And is one of those weird MMOs that can be played as a single-player (with a few areas requiring Multiplayer) or straight multiplayer game.

So, you really don't have that much to lose.

I've never been one for MMO's I enjoyed LOTRO a bit but I suppose this is worth a shot.

Yeah, but frankly, Metro2033 pc is a whole different game. Even the devs themselves, said, "Metro2033 will be a love letter for pc users".

They were right.

Neither am I. Guild Wars was my favorite MMO, Guild Wars 2 completely blows it and other MMOs, if not, any game out of the water. It is open world, you have freedom. You can go anywhere, even the high level areas as a level 1! Dynamic solo and group quests and the like. As a matter of fact, the world is so big that I only see a real person every 10-15 minuets unless you are near a big town like Lion's Arch. Trust me, you will love Guild Wars 2.

And to touch up on the freedom you have, there is no "energy"magic" thing for attacks, just click to attack and use skills as combos. Underwater gameplay is beautiful. Best part? You automatically get a re breather which lets you swim as long as you want without needing air. You would be amazed at the details and freedom this game has.
