So I've been wondering if there would be an easy way to get children to use items more like normal NPCs do?

I originally came across this issue when I wanted to give my adopted child enchanted clothing with a bind atronach* enchantment, when I found out that the clothing you can buy for them with Dawnguard actually qualify as miscellaneous items. So I went to enchanting the wooden sword, though in this case the enchantment is a clothing-only one. At least in the way I'd like it implemented. So I grabbed the children are companions mod, with the intent of sharing a enchanted gold ring with him, but he never equips it.

Bethesda certainly went to quite some length ensuring that children weren't like normal npcs. I'd like to know if there is a way we could get their clothes to actually be clothing? And to actually get them to equip such things? I feel that it'd not only be useful in my particular situation, but it could be of great use to anyone wanting to mod in other attire for children.
