So I'm having what seems to be sort of a unique problem, NPC stealth detection is insane. I've searched around and seen the topics about the lvl 100 glitch, and the stealth enhancement gear bug, but I'm neither at sneak level cap nor do I have stealth enchants. My sneak is level 50, now this is probably my 7th character and I've never had the stealth detection problems I am having now.
Doesn't matter what I'm wearing.
Doesn't matter what time of day.
Doesn't matter where I'm at or what kind of NPC.
Doesn't matter if it's sunny middle of road, or in the shadows.
Doesn't matter if NPC is awake, if they are asleep they wake up as soon as I hit visual range.
Doesn't matter what sneak perks I have.
I've tried using consol commands to change my sneak level to max, almost max, two points from max, back to zero and it does no good.
Now, when I first started this game I used console commands to power level my alchemy, enchanting, and smithing before doing anything else as soon as i left helgen. I didn't change the levels themselves, i just used the player.additem command to give my self the raw materials to level these talents. I have also used the addperk command a few times.
I've done this a few times before with other characters after beating the game at first and never had this problem with stealth, I'm confused if its the console that is breaking it or did i level too fast with non combat skills? Anyone else have this issue? My character is level 39 and NPCs having detected me like this since level one, it's like no matter how much my sneak levels up the internal value is stuck at 1. Any help appreciated.
*edit* before I used console to change my sneak level in an attempt to test if it was indeed broken, I leveled it normally to 50 just by playing the game. I also have the vampire bonus to sneaking.
