My first "job"? Depends on how you define it. We have what you could call "work school" here where during summer breaks in high school you go work for the city, normally just doing gardening and cleaning. I don't consider that a job though, so my first job would have to be my current job as a cashier in a grocery store. Been there for nearly 3 years or so now. It's quite okay, flexible work hours but low pay.

I know, I guess it's a sort of trial. But not being paid for 6 hours work svcks. :/
=.= Not surprised, not too uncommon for some business owners to take advantage of young workers in any way they can. Especially where and when there is a surplus of young workers while work is hard to come by. Makes it all that harder to just "find something else" since there often isn't much else to find.
