Redguard next DLC ?

Post » Tue Jan 08, 2013 7:40 am

Rumors have started spreading after Zenimax parent company of Bethesda (or something along those lines) placed a Trademark on Redguard which was filed on March 2011 but then renewed on August 2012 and its due to expire on February 2013. Rumors have suggested that this next dlc will take place on Dragonstar a city located in Hamerfell which is divided and ruled by both Nords and Redguard. So what do you guys think, is this Bethesdas next planned dlc or could it be the next title for TES 6 ?

Pointless rumors inspired by copyright that took place before Skyrim was released.

It's just a company protecting their assets. They have a race and a game named Redguard.

There is nothing to suggest a DLC is coming out with the same name.

Until patch 1.9 comes out, and if it has "DLC03" files that reference "Redguard" I'm saying they're just protecting TESA: Redguard, the race, or maybe even preparing to re-release Redguard on Steam or something.

Until then, "Ah, yes, 'Redguard.' We have dismissed that claim."

Looking forward to Guardguard. It's going to be amazing.

Bethesda already released a game title Redguard long ago, they could be just protecting an already existing IP. I doubt they'll try to cover more than one province per game.

Oh yeah, I could be wrong, but the rumors aren't anything more than rumors, and aside from an ambiguous trademark there isn't anything else to go on.

Besides, Redguard was trademarked before release. Companies have a tendency to renew trademarks.

i'd rather have an Akaviri invasion DLC where you, as Dragonborn, fight the Nerevarine to the death to see who is the better prophesied hero. :)

And have every Morrowind veteran pissed off with how Bethesda mishandled characerizing their Nerevarine. Very unlikely, dream on, wishful thinking etc etc.

As for the whole Redguard thing, it's all rumor mill. Nothing to really sink our teeth into, no leaked Patch footprints to follow like last time. I'm not even expecting anything substantial until at least the end of the month, at the earliest.

If it is Hammerfell, it makes me wonder... will there be a HoonDing? Hammerfell was (still is technically) in a strait where they could really use some divine intervention. Kinda like what Skyrim got in the Dragonborn.

Imagine... a Sword-Meeting...

If they do make a DLC that tooks part in a bit of Hammerfell, we better get a copy of the Book of Circles. And it needs to be well written.

The Redguard god of "Make way." It's stronger than Vivec, and has helped them, what twice? Once when they invaded Hammerfell and took it as their home, and once when they fought the Empire a long ass time ago. Isn't always a person. Last time it was either a sword or a crown.

I thought the trade mark was specifically for "Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices".

The logo for http://www.trademarkia.com/redguard-85263438.html is even in the same font as http://www.trademarkia.com/dawnguard-85546517.html and http://www.trademarkia.com/hearthfire-85634522.html logo.
