Recovering from a botched mod release. Any suggestions?

Maybe other modders have experienced this before, maybe not so eloquently delivered mind you, but first allow me to regale unto you a tale of wonder and tragedy:

"Over the course of many months you've toiled, striving to forge an enjoyable adventure for the masses to enjoy. Crafting a large island; social life abandoning, fighting bugs and glitches alike with determination unrelenting, bringing others aboard to record voice acting, finally you've accomplished your task. Your mod is complete. Excitedly, in a fervor of ecstasy, you press the Upload button. Your mod is escapes the mortal confines of your computer and flies into the wild blue yonder ... but your creation is downloaded by nary a soul. The winds whisper words of silent defeat as many a month goes by; and then you see it, a retextured helmet, far more popular than I."

I might just be venting like a steam centurion, but hey, I am trying to see the brighter side of an otherwise uninspiring situation. But back to the main point of this thread; is there any way to recover from a botched mod release? Does anyone have any suggested guidelines to follow when releasing a mod? Ultimately I understand that as long as players enjoy the mod that's what matters most, but I have been egged on by the players themselves to find out why the mod is performing so poorly in terms of exposure.

And yes, the mod in question is: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25704.

With this, I concede defeat. Goodnight.

From my experience of being a Mod user, mods that add whole new land masses and quest lines are great! But it takes them a long while to really get noticed. The reason is most people just aren't ready to move beyond the vanilla questing experience until after all the dlc. I may be wrong but this is just my opinion, hell I've barely done 100% of the game. Mainly because I am trying to make the game feel like how I want it but there will come a day when I am ready to move beyond the confines of the vanilla questing experience.

Your mod looks very interesting and I will definately take note of it. Honestly in a little over 3 moths to have 100+ endorsemants (for a new landmass and quest mod mind you) is pretty good. But this is all in my opinion. Your hard and tidious work is not in vein but it may just be a while before you get what your wanting.

You could look to youtube and message some of the popular Skyrim Mod reviewers and see if they will try out and review it. That would be a start to getting some attention.

I think your mod looks great, I'd be inclined to try it. And 3200 downloads is not bad at all.

You may want to consider making a trailer video and perhaps uploading to additional mod sites as well, such as Steam Workshop and TESAlliance.
