I want to know what happens do Arniel Gane of the college,when he tries to hit the Warped Soul Gem with that dagger.

I think he goes where the dwemer went? Im not 100 on that though.

Whatever happened to the dwemer happened to him too. It is unusual that his ghost can still me summoned though. If the same thing that happened to the dwemer also happened to him, you shouldn't be able to summon him. Whatever the dwemer did effectively removed them from existence.

Arniel goes to Soul Cairn, considering it involves a Soul Gem.

He didn't use Wraithguard to keep him safe from Keening, and the Warped Soul Gem is not Heart of Lorkhan. Whatever happened to him didn't happen to the Dwemer.

Ah I feel dumb not remembering that. I've really only done that quest once.

Then why are there Dwarven ghosts in Morrowind?

Because they're the ghosts of Dwemer who died before the rest of their race went wherever they went? I dunno, I'm just guessing. I've never played Morrowind.

Out of all the mysteries in TES lore, the Dwemer's fate, and to a smaller extent Arniel's, is the most annoying to me. I wish this quest went on further and ended more ceremoniously, so that we could have a small idea of what happened to the Dwemer from Arniel.

But no, he just disappears, and leaves his soul at your disposal, who seems oddly unwilling to tell you anything about where he goes when he isn't with you.

They never really explained in Tribunal just where the dwemer ghosts came from...Your explanation seems to fit the facts quite well though. It works for me!

I don't think he went where the Dwemer did because no body has ever summoned a Dwemer and you could bet people would have tried. I think Arniel is what they would call in Star Trek "phase shifted".
