Somehow one of my computers has Optimizer Pro Speed Guard on it. My understanding is that it is a virus or malware pretending to be security software.

Can someone advise on the best way to remove it. I don't think it could be removed via the Microsoft remove program function in the control panel, and it appears that some registry entries need to be removed as well. Norton Anti Virus does not seem to be able to detect it.

I've searched with google, but pages I turn up seem to have incomplete or unclear instructions, and often seem to want you to download a program to remove it - which of course makes me wonder if the removal program is safe.

Any recommendations for removing Optimizer Pro Speed Guard?
