Saving and loosing a character ?

Post » Sat Jan 12, 2013 11:32 pm

When I play I tend to save.....a lot.I was thinking about starting a new character but keeping my current one as well. My question is when I save and save and save...can Iloose the save of a favorite character I may want to play again because the game took the save space for my current character ?

The only way you will lose a save is if you save another file over it. So just make sure you make new saves for your new character and you will be fine.

It's possible, I like to turn the camera on my characters face so I can see the save file. Just be careful.

So IF I manually click new save..I will be ok...right ?

But the game itself auto save on occassion...and a game autosave can overwrite a save I want to keep ??
(if that is the case can i tell the game not to autosave but save only when I make a new save myself ?

Autosaves only overwrite other autosaves, they won't overwrite your manual saves. Are you playing on PC or console?

The only time you can possibly lose a manual save (outside of corruption, but that won't erase it) is if you accidentally make a new save over it or delete it yourself

If you are on pc you can name your saves via console (someone who plays on pc clarify this please?) I think. If you are on console you could do someone I've just started. Whenever you save, create a new save. Then when you're finished playing, manually delete the saves you don't need. Of course being careful not to accidentally delete your old character.

As Shadow_Titan said, it is a good idea to save while the camera is facing your character.
