I have tried a clean install, twice. And by that I mean uninstall and reinstall steam. I have tried making a new save with no mods enabled, I have used process of elimination, not once, not twice, but three times on ALL my mods (one at a time... I was running about 75 mods) to make sure that it wasn't a mod issue. It absolutely isn't.
Also, when I try to sell items to an NPC, the menu will sometimes just NOT appear, I'll stand there for ten minutes and I can even try to get them to barter and it won't work. Same thing happens when I try to access follower inventory. I think it has to do with the stuttering though - maybe the game is so "busy" rendering the graphics that it doesn't have time to bother opening their menus... So in addition to barely being able to kill stuff, I cannot really sell anything.
Specs:
Core 2 Quad (2.ghz*4 cores)
6 GB DDR3 Ram
Ati Radeon 4650 1 gb vram 128 bit cpu (Drivers up to date... Yes, it's 128 bit, but it's a damned good one, I love this vcard)
Windows 7 64 bit.
I've put (no exageration) 24 hours at this point over the past three days into trying to get this game playable. I currently have dawnguard and hearthfire (had no issues with the first hearthfire patch, I remember the game ran flawlessly). Now, using hialgo fps booster, I STILL dip below 10 fps - SOMETIMES INDOORS. This is really agravating. And of course steam refuses to let me cherry pick patches, which is... Nice of them. Because it's either I run a non-patched game and it works fine, but I can't use most of my mods OR I can use my mods and "play" the game. I have tried tweaking the .ini files etc. Tried setting back to default. I've been to the moon and back. Do you guys have any ideas what I can do? I REALLY just want to play my *favorite* game for a few days before I start my new job.
Thanks for the help,
Soaren
