Hello,

I am currently trying to complete the above quest and have run into a bug that I don't think I've encountered any other time I've done this quest. After returning to Septimus Signus with the runed lexicon, I receive the new objective to go harvest elf blood, and on my way out of his cave, Hermaeus Mora appears as the Wretched Abyss, as he is supposed to. However, for some reason, I can't speak to him. Clicking on him does nothing, so I can't advance the quest, or even leave the cave by normal means. I've looked around for any sort of documentation relating to this occurrence but haven't had any luck.

I was able to manually advance the quest via the console and get it to complete, but the Wretched Abyss is still blocking the exit (Interestingly enough, the script that moves the Abyss into the Dwemer box at the end of the quest failed to disable the original Abyss, so I temporarily had two of them in the room, neither of which I could talk to. Advancing the quest to the stage 100 did cause the second Abyss to leave as it was supposed to, however.)

I always hate having to fix a bug like this by manual stage advancement because you never know what else in the game will break as a result, but if there's no better option, I suppose I'll take my chances.

Hopefully, though, somebody has encountered this before and knows how to avoid it.
