I would love some more "plain" looking armor stets

Everything either looks Nordic, or too elaborate. I would love a few plainer looking sets like the steel armor from Oblivion, or the mithril.

What says this board?

I love the iron set in Skyrim, however.

EDIT: The silver weapons look awesome, I would love some silver armor.

I agree, though Steel Plate should be on the heavy side of the smithing tree, which stops some people from using it since otherwise you have to waste two perks getting to it.

Heavy: Iron, Banded Iron, Steel, Steel Plate, Wolf, Ancient Nord
Light: 4 varieties of Fur, Hide, Leather, Studded.

Unless you can to wear fur armor, there's not much except for exotic (elven/glass/dragon), or specialty (DB/Thieves) light armor. Couple more choices for heavy armor though, but they really like one more "standard" choice for each at least.

Every province has its own take on armor according to traditions. So "plain" is really a subjective term.

Armor that people actually wore was quite plain. Had to be as any repairs would soon ruin the fancy parts.
