Estimated release: Summer 2013
Summary
Rochebere is an entirely new city/landmass mod. The city itself is based on and around the borders of Skyrim, Cyrodiil and Hammerfell. I say city/landmass as in terms of lore, yes I am creating a city, but in terms of land created, I think it would be fair to call it a small landmass.
The city includes a main storyline featuring several unique, cinematic and dynamic quests, which will lead you to multiple endings and determine the fate of Rochebere. New quests will take you to entirely new locations, climbing over rooftops, chasing foes through burning buildings and hiking up steep, snowy mountains.
Don't fancy playing a fully fledged quest-line? The mod also includes a handful of side-quests, miscellaneous objectives and activities to partake in and new NPC's to talk to. Key new features include the use of an interave archery range and the option to become a landlord and buy new buildings, shops or landmarks to earn gold in your very own treasury vault.
Or are you more of a gambler? How about taking a trip to the Grand crucible? An arena where mindless and bloodthirsty mercenaries enter to fight hordes of creatures- or even each other- to the death.
Will you decide the join Rochebere's new guild- the Guardians? A faction dedicated to protecting the citizens of the city from evils such as slavery, kidnappings and threats from crime gangs. This guild will be influenced by the way you complete your assignments. Using aggressive means will higher your notoriety to crime lords, and make the guild resort to worsened methods, whilst avoiding trouble and using non-lethal methods will lead to a lighter outcome (please note that the guild's quest-line will not be included in initial release. It will be released a few months afterwards so that I can put the time into it without holding back release for Rochebebere itself.)
You also, as you would expect, have the option to buy a house in the city and choose to renovate it as you please, turning it from run-down shack to pristine manor.
Key lore
The 10th Jarl: The ruler of Rochebere is nicknamed as a Jarl, despite not being one of the 9 Jarl's of Skyrim. This is due to Rochebere's Nordic farming origins. When the settlers from Cyrodiil first arrived and begun to help Rochebere expand into what it is today, a nobleman was crowned 'Jarl' of the city, despite not being an official city of Skyrim.
Eagle tower: Eagle tower is the residence and base of operations for the current 'Jarl' of the city. It was built shortly after the Oblivion Crisis, as a monument to the lost, and was decided by the people to be the new rulers. Over the years it has grown in size and greatness, and is easily one of the most spectacular landmarks of Rochebere, being visible from almost every inch of the city.
Unknown settlement: The common people of Tamriel are generally unaware that Rochebere even exists on the map. It is a largely independant city, and not known to be on the map of Tamriel. This is due to its tucked-away location on the intersection of the borders of Skyrim, Cyrodiil and Hammerfell, where very few people choose to cross.
The Grand Crucible: The Grand Crucible is possibly the oldest construction in all of Rochebere. It has stood crafted out of ancient stone even before Rochebere was only a small settlement, and was a place where warriors would enter in teams or on their own, to test their skills against the hordes of creatures and opponent warriors in the ancient arena. However, it has now fallen as a victim of time and is slowly crumbling away. The competitors are merely bloodthirsty mercenaries uninterested in gold or payment, merely the thrill of killing other creatures. Thus the arena has also stopped betting on the matches too. The people of Rochebere hope that the arena will one day be restored to its full glory...
The Guardian's guild: The Guardian's guild is a secret faction dedicated to defending people's freedom and liberties. Preventing slavery, kidnappings and crime gangs are their targets. Despite their honourable goals, the guild's methods can be slightly less so. Many problems they must solve involve acting less than noble actions- Assassinations, Spying and Theivery are among the deeds a member of the Guardians must dirty their hands with for the greater good. Or will you be able to change this, by making the guild's methods more honourable and less aggressive? The choice is yours...
(Note that the faction will be joinable in the initial release, but it is old, run-down and in need of restoration. There will maybe be one quest in the intial version that sets up the storyline for the guild, when a new threat arises that the Guardians have to stop. I waiting to make the guild quest-line after initial release so that I do not have to rush the guild's questline in order to get Rochebere out by my target of this summer.)
