Add Mods To Consoles - read before commenting.

:tops: ADD MODS TO CONSOLE'S :tops:
You could do this by having an option called "modding" or "mods" then contact major modders and sent out the word you are going to port some mods to console. In the menu have a mod selection list and a mod management list (have the mods in categories eg." Default Skyrim" "Dawnguard" "Hearthfire" Dragonborn" "other dlc title" , lets players choose there mods and manage them in the menus.

Then have community votes and suggestions for which mods should be added into the game, many console gamers would like to experience some mods in there skyrim world, have some skimpy Armour , there are so many mods that would just complete the console version of skyrim.

What do you think about this? :bunny: :bonk: :twirl: :D

Bethesda has stated repeatedly that they'd love to add mods to consoles.

Microsoft and Sony disagrees.

if they get the backing of the console users im sure they would have to re-evaluate there decision

This would be a good idea. But i think that they should just recreate the mods, so they are done better.

It'd be nice, but it's not happening. Sony and Microsoft won't allow it, and I doubt consoles (the PS3 in particular) could handle mods.

Nexus currently have 21826 mods. I'm sure Beth will start recreating them right away :teehee:

Microsoft and Sony won't allow it, and also because it's a closed system it'll be impossible to manage correctly. You need to consider compatibilities, load order and such, things that won't be possible to modify on consoles. Also the fact that you won't be able to run things like SKSE (which quite a few more..."ambitious" mods require), you can't modify INI files and the fact that adding any visual mods will slow the game down to a crawl.

Also, what happens if a mod messes up a game? You can't re-install and troubleshoot like on a PC. Is it Bethesda's fault? They can't possibly check every mod. Also the Creation Kit is PC only so making mods will still only be possible for the PC version.

It'd be awesome, but it won't happen. Mainly because mods are about things being open and customisable, which is completely the opposite of how consoles work.

Not all the mods lol. Just some of the most popular mods of each category, armor, weapon, house, quest, etc.

Modding is not a simple thing. Already, there have been a multitude of problems by a fundamental change in handling mods; that it may be unsafe to deactivate them.

There's also the aforementioned load order management, then there's also conflict investigations between plugins, there's the aforementioned SKSE app, there's the potential to overload your game with texture/mesh replacers...

So if you got a console for simplicity, modding is not for you.

i own both console and pc, they wouldn't put the texture ones on that would lag too much

petty much what welsh guy said perhaps with PS5 and XBOX840 a basic verison of moding might included but for now it's impossible to manage this said however a companies like Beth could add the top 10 or so mods (that are adapted to console) in DLC's/base game which they did partly do with healthfire and weapon mods in FNV.

So would any mods that add lots of NPCs. Plus any graphic enhancer. And mods which modify the world drastically (like Open Cities).
