Okay, so I just got a brand new Xbox 360 and a copy of Skyrim less than two weeks ago. Last night, many of the textures [clothes, mead barrels, doors, flooring, etc] even on the loading screens have turned a blue-purple color. Actually, it just appeared on the loading screen as I type this. prior, it has never been on the loading screen.

In addition, I've been having the game freeze up on the loading screen, so I have to hard boot the system. It's really starting to irritate me. I thoroughly checked the disc, there's not even a fingerprint on it, let alone a crack or any scratches. I read online that the purple textures meant that the disc was defective and needed to be replaced. I really don't want to have to send it in for a replacement, as I am in college now, and only have a few limited hours to play here and there, so when I get the chance [like right now], I'd rather be able to play it, and not have to wait on the mail.

Is there a fix for either of these problems? If so, I'd rather they be explained in simple terms, as I have never had a 360 prior to this...
