I have been a console gamer my entire life, and I have been a longtime fans of the Elder Scrolls as well. It's completely obvious that Skyrim is meant to be played on the PC, so I finally took the plunge and built my own PC. The thing is, I have no idea what the best mods are to make Skyrim look and perform at it's absolute best.

I am very new to playing any sort of game on the computer, so I wouldn't even begin to know what the best mods are for Skyrim. I would greatly appreciate any help picking out what mods would be best. Even just some links to pre-compiled lists of mods would be awesome.

Other mods I am looking for are essential mods that make Skyrim more enjoyable and immersive.
