As the dragonborn, your actions will result on either the stormcloaks or imperial winning. If imperials win, skyrim is under the empire rule. If stormcloaks win, skyrim is independent. Eventually either side will face the thalmor.

What i want to say was, the official outcome of the war will be known in TES6 or some dlc when bethesda added these information in, the same way as what they did for the 200 years after oblivion.
