Take this container?

Hi guys, just a quick question.

how would i go about writing a script that opened a message box when a player closes a container?

the message box will ask the player if he or she wants to now pick up this container. if yes the container world reference is disabled and a misc item is placed in the players inventory representing the container.

the misc item in the players inventory does not need to be used as a container ever again, but it cannot delete the container completely, as it is a script that is going to be applied to a base object for a specific set of vanilla containers that exist all over skyrim. i don't want them all to stop working when one reference of it is removed from the game by the player!

i can understand the really basic functions in this script, like adding items to the inventory and disabling references, but i find scripting quite difficult (i'm more of a 3d model and builder guy than a scripter) so any good scripting wizards out there that want to help, please do so!

or if you just think you might know something that could point me in the right direction, please do so.

thanks!
