Saving & Pausing

Post » Sun Jan 20, 2013 2:50 pm

As I've never played an MMO I have two questions about TESO.

Do we have any information if we can pause the game or save anytime?

I would absolutely hate if I couldn't pause the game or save whenever I want to, but I fear this won't work in an MMO.
I really wouldn't like a game to force me to continue playing until I reach a specific point, I want to be able to stop and continue whenever I want.

im very sory but unfortunately thats how mmo's work .. they are allways saving everything you do .. constantly saving ..
and no you cant pause the game . you Can however go to a safe place like a town and then leave your character there and it is kind of like a pause ... but no mmo's are basicly like RL in a way because of the in-ability to stop whats happening "Live" in-game

You can pause if you like to be mauled to death, because you'll be the only thing that stops.

Can't save or pause in an MMO. You log out and the server saves you.

Out of curiousity : is this a legitimate thread?

well i would say yes because many people here in elderscrolls forum have never played an mmo ... this is information that people coming to TESO will need to know .. so sure it is :)

well....... noone of you said something about 'log out' -> pause .

however when you log out, you need to be out of combat for some ammount of time (not sure how ti will be dealt with in TESO tho)

and yes the game is live, you can't go back on anything. however as far as i know, you can redo a quest if you don't like the outcome of it (its stated that you can redo a quest, to play it with your friend, makeing the solo redoing a quest a fine thing if you ask me)...

I just suppose it has been a while since I've seen this topic manifest itself on forums from an authentic newcomer to the genre :P
