Anyone Else Miss The City Stores From Oblivion?

Post » Mon Jan 21, 2013 2:54 pm

The stores in Oblivion added a great atmosphere to the cities and the game as a whole. Why were they gutted? I loved the book stores. I still don't think the cities in Skyrim are better overall compared to Oblivion's. Nothing has that magical feel like the Imperial City has to this day for me.

For a Second I thought you meant The Statues in the Cities.

But yeah I don't really care about the stores looks.

Overall The City's are better in Oblivion though

Which is a shame because the cities were really hyped pre release.

Hmmm.... I know I prefer Skyrim's cities to Oblivions, those seemed too similar to each other - the very reason why Better Cities and Open Cities Reborn had got so much attention. The lack of bookstores is a bit sad, but that's what makes the Nordic province special.

Here's another one you could use as a sig or status update:

Jack Bauer, ridding the world of terrorists, one fried ballsack at time.

If he isn't, I am. Oblivion's cities were boring and generic. They looked way too much alike, with the exception of the IC. Mods like Better Cities made them bearable.

Everything from oblivion is screwed up in skyrim. Journal gets simpler, obviously it is laziness. Cities became smaller despite bethesda saying they will be huge.

I Agree with that... I only think that Oblivion Cities are way better because of the Architecture of the Imperials... I guess i just like it better....

I was so excited for Markarth. And then I found out half of its populace are deranged lunatics and the city is a ghost town after doing a few quests because almost every one forces you to kill somebody in there.

It had so much potential, being a Dwarven Ruin and all.
