Disenchantable mufflewaterbreathing items?

Post » Tue Jan 22, 2013 6:42 pm

I'm on a 360, and so does any body know where you can get disenchantable muffle, and waterbreathing items? It seems they only pop-up randomly, especially if I change a character, or skill sets. I would like to use these enchantments on gear of my own choosing, but finding them in reliable locations seems to hopeless.

There are several unique Muffle enchanted items that can be found in specific locations however none of them can be disenchanted. For Waterbreathing, I don't know of any specific location where they will always turn up.

If you are looking for an item that you can disenchant to learn a specific enchantment, your best bet is to check every possible vendor as often as possible. Boots of Muffle will appear at random in blacksmiths' vendor inventories and possibly with general merchants and the caravans as well altho I don't know that I've ever gotten them from anyone but a smith.

For any apparel enchantment (such as Waterbreathing) the Radiant Raiment shop in Solitude is a good bet, they usually have the biggest selection of random enchanted apparel since they are an "apparel only" shop. They do not sell anything tagged as armor though and I don't know if the Muffle enchant ever turns up randomly on non-armor apparel.

Thanx! I've been pretty-much doing the vendor-bender gig, but I'm currently on a new character with many hours, and quests into it, but alas, all the shops have about the same stuff each time I visit...I think my game is in a rut/loop. Thanx again.

If you have Dawnguard, there is a circlet of waterbreathing on one of the frozen falmer in the temple where you find Auriel's bow.

If you've got the Sigil Stone for the Atronach Forge, you can create randomly enchanted Daedric items. Save before you do it, that way you can reload if you didn't get the item you were looking for. It can take a while, but eventually you'll get Daedric Boots of Muffling or a Daedric Helm of Waterbreathing. Then take it to an Arcane Enchanter and destroy it to get the enchantment you wanted.

The smithy in the Thieves Guild has popped up with two sets of Dwarven Boots of Muffling and a Dwarven Helmet of Waterbreathing all within about a month's time for my character. You can always try saving at a vendor, punch them, reload, and recheck their inventory.

Muffled and Waterbreathing loot is particularly hard to come by, much like weapons with Banish or Paralyze on them. Waterbreathing loot is perhaps the hardest to get, though, the enchantment is "fixed" and, thanks to a bug, doesn't scale with you as you level up. So, if you haven't found a helmet or circlet or necklace of Waterbreathing before you reach level 70 then the chances of finding one will be practically zero.

I think Resist Poison or Poison Immunity are the hardest to get. Though that's mostly from the same bug you're talking about.

I suggest going to Radiant Raiments in Solitude, they seem to be the one shop in all of Skyrim that carries the Necklace of Poison Immunity as well as the Necklace of Disease Immunity commonly and in surplus (at least two of one necklace or the other at a time). But, personally, I hate choosing between the two, which is why I usually just go beat up Hevnoraak and take his mask.

Next time I start a new character, once I get to the level that they start spawning I'll probably go there and keep doing it until I get what I get it. I'll have to actively go out of my way to find it, or else I'll miss it again.

I've been looking for waterbreathing enchanted gear for 50+ levels now and not seen any in any of the vendors inventories. Guess I'll just have to go without. Been using potions with long lasting duration but it seems a waste sometimes using a potion worth 4K+ just to find some items worth less than 500 collectively.

Boots and other random items of Muffle will start showing up in loot and shops (extremely random on both accounts) somewhere between level 25 & 30 in my experience. Just keep adventuring and going back to the towns for loot selling. You should run across them at some point.

Radiant Raiment usually carries a Necklace of Waterbreathing. The drawback is you have to go there while you're still level 1. I feel it's breaking immersion if you're roleplaying, but of course everyone has to make their own judgement on that.

I doubt this is helpful to you now, but if you ever start a new character you could try it.

You could try your luck at the secret Dawnstar Chest, I found some Ebony Boots of Muffling once. I also recommend going to Radiant Raiment.

that chest only carries what the khajit trader that camps there sells

i think these enchantments are leveled, meaning that you'll only find them as loot or on merchants when your level is high enough.

another trick you can try is go to adrienne in whiterun when she's outside at her forge, save, check her inventory for the enchanted items. if she doesnt have what you're looking for then kill her and reload that save you just made. she should have different items for sale after you reload...lather, rinse, repeat til you find what you're looking for

Muffle can be very tricky to find, Waterbreathing not so much. Sometimes I find Lucan has an Amulet of Waterbreathing.

I keep finding random helms that provide waterbreathing. I unenchant them and apply the enchantment to an amulet. Can't say I find them in the same places though.
