Firstly, I posted this on the mods section, but someone told me that even though it is a mod, what I request is more of an update for a future patch, so I decided to post it here.
Anyhow, I found a topic on gamefaqs that rates the "Paarthunax" quest, and nearly everyone rated it a 1 (terrible) because of the unrealistic manner in which it appears, plus nearly everyone likes Paarthunax and his philosophical wisdom.
I will not go into an argument over it as I would go on a very long lecture about everything that is so wrong with the Blades logic and how it sounds very petty, and stupid; after all, if we acted like that towards others over what happened in the past, none of us would be at peace...we'd be killing each other day by day until one race is dead by genocide.
Anyhow someone posted a comment that links to a PC mod that allows you to put the Blades into their place and spare Paarthunax (seeing as he did recant for his past wrongs and he taught the mortals how to defend themselves, plus he teaches the Greybeards the Thu'um...if he dies, the Thu'um dies out, as the greybeards can't teach others like he does...especially if they die off)
Anyhow, I feel that Bethesda should add this to a future patch.

This allows you to have an option to order the blades to stand down and follow you...not the other way round; plus Paarthy lives and teaches dragons the way of the voice and hopefully find peace and coexist with the other races.
I really hated this quest as it never allowed you any options; you're told by an arrogant #### (who not only threatens you earlier if you ask for answers to her interfering in your quest) to kill someone or they'll never help you, despite saying they're sworn to protect and serve you.
I don't have the PC version, but I would love to order the Blades to stop their immature, petty lust for revenge over something that happened thousands of years ago and accept clemency, forgiveness, penance and mercy. It's like me wanting revenge on some stranger who hurt me 29 years ago when I was a 5 yr old child (some pavement worker twisted my right ear, ripping the carltidge where my ear joins to my head, and it's still ripped. Why did he do this? Because I stepped on the wet cement out of curiosity)
Would it be holy, noble and 'the right thing' if I hunted that man down and killed him for what he did? No, it wouldn't! It would make me a common thug and a vicious murderer; no, it would make me worse: it would make me appear far more cruel as I let a grudge eat at me for so long rather than let it go, which I have done, I let it go and I won't think about going after him...despite what he did. yes, he hurt me, yes it really upset me and made me bitter, but I'd rather let go of my hate and fear and move on rather than take extreme action over an unpleasant event in the past....besides, he could have realized afterwards he did wrong and repented, showing remorse for harming a child. And let’s say he did, let’s say he repented and I still killed him...that makes me evil, not good.
Good Gods', I am restraining myself from really ranting here, but you get my message, This quest is severely flawed, the Blades logic is flawed, their attitude is shockingly appalling, their methods at solving a problem are so wrong and they just want to control and use you...not serve and protect you.
Please, Bethesda,; PLEASE make this quest have alternative outcomes. I don't want to be forced to just ignore the Blades to keep Paarthy alive; I want to resolve the situation with several options.
(a) kill Paarthunax: which enrages the Greybeards, but allows you back into the Blades (humph!)
( b ) kill the Blades, which saddens the Greybeards and Paarthunax, as they preferred you to use peace, not violence, yet they still give you word walls and thu'um buffers.
( c ) command the Blades to stop this petty murderous quest over something that happened 4000+ years ago, which makes them realize you are NOT a doormat and they'll serve you as though you picked option (a), plus you get the benefits of option ( b ) with the Greybeards and Paarthunax...this option is the best one.
Who else agrees with me? This way if you want to kill him, you can; if you want to kill the Blades, you can, but most importantly, if you use your dragonborn wisdom and resolve the situation, like what real thinkers do, then yes, let's have that option!
