master arngeir bug issue

Post » Wed Jan 23, 2013 2:48 am

I have a problem not sure what causing it but master arngeir is still outside of the back door area were he teaches you the next shout and he won't move? because I've returned with horn of jurgen windcaller and he won't move? yes ive used the edit thing to clean up stuff and have mods but I don't think it is a mod issue but maybe a issue with there cleaner cleaning certain files from the main game. so I'm posting this if anybody else had the same problem this the first time I've had a issue with a main quest issue.

Uninstall (do not simply disable, the files need to be gone from the Data directory) any and all mods, script extenders, third-party add-ons, and so forth and start a new game.

If it works, test your save WITHOUT reinstalling the stuff above. See if it works.

If it does work in both cases, it's a mod issue and goes here: http://www.gamesas.com/forum/183-skyrim-mods/

why is every time I see a post you make you say uninstall every mod or completely start all over again? if I uninstall and re-install 1 mod at a time to see the problem will take forever and besides can cause serous issues if somebody like me has a lot of mods that changes or improves the player character and the npc's. I did that 1 time and lost my face completely and tried re-install the mod for that and that wouldn't fix the characters face. ain't anybody know a why this is happening or come across it. with a problem with master arngeir stuck outside the back entrance of high hrothgar. I haven't changed my mods realy at all except uninstalled 2 mods that all. and this I don't think is a mod issue. im thinking it's a issue with that TSE5edit cleaner thing might of cleaned or wiped certain things out because I did at least 2 minor quest for the blacksmith In windhelm and in riften and they supposed to give you 1 point skill increase in blacksmithing. and they never did why I don't think the TSE5edit should not be done. and yes I followed every induction that gopher gave. and at yes I have read every mod I have and none of them say have issues at all with other mods or the default game. I stay away from mods that might say they have issues with them. or they require manual download and install I just use NMM only.

Because that is how you track down the problem: by reverting to a completely clean slate and going from there.

still aint going to solve the problem and more likely cause more issue because some time when you uninstall a mod and then reinstall the same mod will more likely cause the mod to not work properly espicly the mods that are for the player like improvement's on facial feature. besides there should be somebody out there also who came across same issue. I'm about just to forget the whole thing and just play the normal game on my ps3 and just forget about pc since there way to many issues and people like you say do this and that and instead of just saying this is a tread or here's a link to somebody who had same issue. or somebody who actually had same issue.

It won't cause any issues if you start a new game.

If you refuse to even revert back to a completely clean slate for troubleshooting, then there is no way at all that anyone can even help you.

I see you have followed some of our advice from previous threads however not all the advice. I am looking at Warmer Magic Lights and all the magic mods that you have active for starters.

I agree to your suggestion to play PS3, there is not much wrong with Vanilla Skyrim and you will not botch anything.

obviously you didn't read what I said I think the edit thing caused a issue with 2 of the blacksmiths 1 in windhelm and 1 in riften after I did there quest to get there items they never gave me any blacksmithing training there supposed to give you at least 1 point of blacksmithing training why I think that edit thing isn't good. besides it might caused master arngeir to stay outdoors after the learning of the next shout. but obviously people just don't get what is going on or can read this right. or whatever I post. why I never liked coming here. this community is messed up trying to mislead or misinform people or tell them how to do things the way that they do it. almost like standing over my shoulder and telling me how to play a game. and I bought the steam digital version because for the mods because the original game yea is a lot better looking than the previous game but that's the whole point of mods is to improve the graphics and looks of the original game. since Bethesda don't want to follow same pattern as rockstar games as far as make the game a lot better looking than what's currently out there or about the same.

I was going to move this, but given the tone of your most recent post, I won't bother.

People post the same advice because, more often than not, it's the only way anyone can help you. PC gaming is not a plug-and-play medium - everything, from installing software to installing mods - is a matter of trial-and-error and the results will be different for every player. Not getting attached to savegames is the price you pay for using mods. If it is literally impossible to test every configuration of hardware and software for compatibility before releasing the game itself, you can only imagine how much harder it is to ensure that every mod works on every rig.

You have one very simple choice: try the advice given or don't use mods. Or put up with glitches and weirdness. It's not because anyone is being mean but because that is the nature of how computers work.
