Umaril.
Atlmer.
Around 400 years old, appears to be around 50-60.
Umaril has long craved power, power and knowledge. When he was 15, he killed both of his parents and used their souls to enchant an elven dagger. He abandoned his old name and took on the title Umaril, after the last Ayelid king. He ran from home and eventually sailed away from the Summerset Isles and fled to Skyrim. There he became an enchanter of some reknown, while behind the scenes, he was a vampire. A murderer, a thief. And most of all, a hoarder of ancient knowledge and ancient aritfacts. He became a vampire one day while he was exploring a cave in the reach, searching for a trove of treasure inside, rumored to contain an enchanted sword that he was after. Inside he discovered a small coven of vampires. Now the leader of this coven was a man named, Athellor, a high-elf just like Umaril. Umaril was a skilled swordsman, and he carried and enchanted elven blade but he could not fight the entire coven but luckily he did not have to. Athellor spared his life, and made Umaril a vampire. By this point Umaril was already 53 years old and had, over-time, accumulated massive amounts of gold, through questionable means but that did not bother Athellor. Umaril supplied the vampire coven with gold, alchemical poisions, and enchanted their weapons, making them oen of the most powerful vampire covens in skyrim. And for the longest time, Umaril was happy, he had access to an extremely large library and the dream enchanting room for a mage. But that all changed when the Dawnguard showed up. One day while Umaril was out hunting rumors for a Deadric artifact, the Dawnguard attacked his coven, killing every member inside the cave. When he returned, he found crossbow bolts dotting the room and one or two dead members of the Dawnguard. And then and there, he swore revenge. He dressed himself up as a member of the vampire hunting organization and followed a trail of horse-shoe prints back to their fort. And that night he slaughtered them all, saving their leader for last. He tortured their leader Isran for days on end, each night letting him rest and regain his strength for the next day, until finally Isran died. Now Umaril lives in Fort Dawnguard, venturing out for food, local news, and knowledge. For even when his family is gone, he still thirsts for knowledge. Because to him. Knowledge is indeed power.
