"You have been infected with vampirism. Prepare to lose

So vampires. They've had their ups and downs throughout the series; in Morrowind making you look fearsome and unable to continue questing; in Oblivion making you look like a geezer and giving you a few buffs; vanilla Skyrim coming up with a nice balance and allowing characters to still look good, while in Dawnguard giving you a weird bleeding nose, neat red eyes, a cool new form, and yet people are even less afraid of you.

With Zenimax giving it a shot, there's no telling what we'll see.

What do you want to see, and what do you expect? Points of interest would be visuals, sun mechanics, vampire buffs and powers, and relations with townsfolk.

Personally, I really enjoyed vanilla Skyrim. Dawnguard's glowing red eyes and bloody septum seemed distracting, and it didn't make much sense that it would make people fear you even less, especially given the increased fear of vampires lately. Thankfully the sun didn't mean automatic death as in Morrowind. Lacking damage altogether seemed strange, but the debuff was certainly a powerful effect. It seemed alright. But given that TESO is an MMO and players might always be stuck playing at a certain time of day, it could make vampirism pretty unfairly inconsistent among players.

I dunno. What do you all think?

I would like to see them being easily identifyable visually, and I would obviously like them to be affected by the sun and such, but I am not sure in regards to buffs. If they get a buff from being out at night, and the game has day/night cycles then PvP would become unbalanced, and PvE could also be affected (I know if there is a buff such as 'do more damage but take more damage' then guilds will raid entirely at nighttime with all vampire DPS), so anything would have to be a non-combat buff.

I can see things like faster healing out of combat maybe, being able to heal from drinking corpse blood (Out of combat), maybe very minor vampric drain powers that are really pretty much RP only.

Being a werewolf will have the same hurdles.

Edit: Overall if it does happen I would like it to be pretty much RP/quest related only.

I just hope they don't make it ridiculously difficult and involved to cure vampirism and lycanthropy if you don't want to be one. It'd be nice if you had at least 3 days to cure it with a simple cure common disease potion or spell. If you wait past that, then yeah, I could possibly see a long and arduous task to rid yourself of them.

I chose not to play as a vampire or werewolf in the single player games because I didn't really like it. But I know there are some that do. And I know ZOS said we will be able to be Werewolves and Vampires (in a limited fashion of course).

On the contrary, i would rather them be NOT as noticeable point of a vampire, right? And they could change form to a more sadistic, horrifying one when they use a certain skill during combat maybe?

As for buffs? Leave them out of PVP... burns from the Sun, of course. and then rather than positive active buffs, (possibly a little more strength) give'em a skill to use during combat, as stated above
