Speaking to a friend who plays a lot of WoW, he said that in guilds and raids, they hardly take on Women warriors, and will only use women casters and healers etc...
I've decided to roll a female as my main character for ESO, and now im worrying that i won't be taken seriously in raids and guilds..
Was what he said based on truth, or is he talking out his ass?
if they don't take you seriously, MAKE THEM! If you're good, you're good. simple as that if they don't believe it, walk away or shove your steel in their face.
He sounds like he's in some kind of twatty sixist guild, and it's them who shouldn't be taken seriously
Most normal people are...normal, and don't have weird prejudices like this.
It's crazy on tons of levels - for a start I'm guessing you're actually a guy so the female character is simply a character...so for them to not take guys seriously just because they roll a female character is in some ways even weirder than straight up sixism. At least real sixism has a dedicated history. Just

This. I'd like to see a female warrior kick a males ass after talking crap, put 'em in their place.
In my experience as a female gamer, players generally don't care what gender you are, so long as you know what you're doing. If anything, I usually hear positive remarks about "having a girl in vent" or something like that if I joined a raid w/ people I don't usually play with. Never anything negative.
Maybe they are women haters guild. I never heard of anything like that though. Gender makes no difference. If a guild were to do that I would suggest finding a real guild thats not full of smacked asses.
