Pretty cool

Thanks for correcting the spelling

The 'Introduction to Elder Scrolls Online' video (embedded above) has a massive PvP siege battle which looks like hundreds or even thousands of soldiers facing off against each other. Is a battle of this magnitude actually possible in the game, made up of human players?

Every one of the figures in that video was a human player. We got all of our devs into the game for a PvP test, and then captured that sequence with them. It was all in-game. Cyrodiil (the PvP map) is open-world and supports up to 2000 players in it at the same time. ESO’s client is designed to be able to handle (on the recommended spec) 200 players on screen at the same time. That particular scene had about 115 players on each side.

Also happy to hear they're taking Oceanic players into consideration for latency issues/distance to server :tops:

Totally thought his first name was Mark. Must be combining Mark Jacobs & Matt Firor into one name. Oops!

Cyrodiil is going to be crazy, I'am glad its going to be all open. I was thinking they were going to split it up into smaller areas.

I'm glad this has finally be cleared up. 2000 players in Cyrodil may not seem like a lot to some people, but that's actually insane, it's going to make for a lot of great and random as hell crazy war and adventure stories.

I'm still skeptical their engine can handle 200 players rendered together w/ no lag on the average gaming machine. I hope its true, but I'll have to see it for myself.

Yeah, I can't wait. Imagine going into a public dungeon with 20 -30 of your guildies or random friendlies and then 100 people from another faction just roll over you lol.

Yeah I can't even imagine how crazy 200 players on the screen will be, I hope the engine works good. He says they had 115 per side in that intro video and that looked nuts.

I hope most people don't stick to a zerg, the whole point of my assassin will be to pick off the lone wolves 1 by 1, ambushing from the shadows, possibly being a target for enemy assassins as well. :)

I don't think zerging will be a good tactic here. If the map is huge you really don't want your whole force going to one place, you leave everything else open to get raided.

Lots of people will be in there to farm materials or run a quick quest for points so I can assure you there will be ample opportunity for assassinations.

True, but than I think it would be more considered an army.
