People already in the game?

Post » Sat Jan 26, 2013 5:31 am

I've been hearing, rather regularily, people talking about firt hand experiences in the game, talking about bugs and whatnot.

And yet, to my knowledge so far, they've made it preeetty clear they haven't sent out invitations into the beta yet.

This is where my confusion kicks in and I curl up into the fetal position and weep because that's easier than actually asking.

Unfortunately my room is now wet with tears and lying down there I was in danger of dying a wet and salty death.

So I've come to ask how this is happening, are people just talking about what they've seen in video's, are people already in? What's the dealio?

(There's probably been a few posts like this before, but in my short terrified search I found nothing of use..)

They've just started beta signups, and probably haven't even started the beta itself yet.

It's best to completely disregard beta, as the chances of getting in are pretty low. And the folks who do get in are really there to do a job, not just for fun.

1. Anyone who says anything about the game play who is not a reporter that was invited by ZOS to play a demo is lying about any first hand experiences.
2. Anyone else who says anything about first hand experience playing the game is breaking NDA.
3. Assume anyone who says anything about first hand experience is lying.

Wanted to add that when they do start handing out the beta invitations they will post it here: https://twitter.com/TESOnline/with_replies

Nobody outside of ZOS and their family and friends, or the press at the October event, have touched ESO. If the people claiming to have first hand knowledge are not one of those people, then anything they say is purely observational.

A few journalists were invited to play the alpha version. Everybody else is lying.

I don't know what to think to be honest, the actual signup sheet said I had an excellent chance, and so I got kinda excited, but now everyone seems fairly confident not many people are going to be able to get in..

And I would want to actually do the beta testing, I've had experience of a sort in that way, and have genuine interest in the idea of playtesting this thing past the obvious "Whee, elder scroooolls"

I think what that means is that you will have an excellent chance of getting in 'eventually' but not necessarily in the first wave, they will likely invite a new group every month or so, probably inviting everyone (Or everyone who met certain criteria) in the last month/week/weekend for a stress test.
