fully playable solo?

Post » Sat Jan 26, 2013 10:19 am

I may have missed a thread with this info in my search that might have the answer so I'll just ask...

"most of the game is fully playable solo"

Is this true? I can play ESO alone?

The main storyline is 100% solo-friendly - have a dev quote on that if you need me to find it. You'll probably be able to level no worries solo as well...though while I haven't seen any direct quote on this last bit, I have read they are making activities for everyone. There are definitely dungeons you can join as a solo player and spontaneously get informally grouped with others in as well as dungeons you enter as a party. And also "adventure zones" that are made for solo players as well as others (I guess) made for groups. Everyone gets their own loot bag - so no rolls or fighting over drops, and also everyone who participates in a kill gets credit and loot. Made a point of knowing these things as I like solo play as well.

Of course, most any MMO is playable solo. You won't be able to solo everything in the game, as there will be dungeons and Bosses that you will need a group or Raid to do. Also for PvP you can just go with the flow and play along side other players and not have to physically group or interact with them. So yes if all you want to do is solo you can, you'll miss out on a lot of content but again thats your choice if you want that play style.

You can play pretty much any MMO solo to some extent. i'm guessing you won't be able to do dungeons and raids(unless you're overleveled) but pretty much everything else will be soloable.

Yeah they did say we'd be able to solo the group dungeons once we outlevel them a bit, so this is also cool.

I've heard this also and I think it's because you can hire people or somehow get followers. I noticed in the Alliance cinematic trailer (btw, one of the best game trailer videos I have ever seen) that each of the main characters has two people tagging along with them. I have assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that they represent NPCs that you can pick up in the game to help with soloing. As a stay at home dad who has a daughter with cerebral palsy I certainly hope soloing is viable since grouping is sometimes problematic for me.

They have also said that the quests will scale to your group so if you do decide to group to do leveling quests it will be a sufficient challenge all the same.

what lollie said, i don't even start writing an explanation, because she probablby will have posted already when I'm finished :D

and i heard there are dungeons for 1,5 (one and a half) players... so the 'solo' dungeons are a challange for solo but also a little challanging for pairs
