Should I revert?

This is really subjective, but I thought I'd ask for opinions and/or advice.

I've got 172+ hours in on my L39 Wood Elf Archer, and there are some house things that I've discovered I like better than others in certain locales (ie: I want to make my "man-cave" in Falkreath, my "home" in Heljarchen Hall and my "center of learning" at Windstad Manor - which means I'd need to change the floor plans). But after putting so much time into this character already, I balk at going back to the pre-construction save of the Falkreath house, which was my first Hearthfire home. I've built all three, and Lakeview Manor was 11+ levels ago. I've also run into some major bug issues in furnishing Windstad.

Just wondering what other folks would do or have done when they find they're a bit too dissatisfied with what they've built for themselves. Revert to a prior save and re-slog through all the quests you've already accomplished? svck it up and keep what you have until the next character? Delete this character and start anew?

Thanks for anything helpful or insightful!

Since I have started so many new characters, that is the approach I took. I started HF with a high level character to see what the possibilities were, then I restarted with a new character based on having HF. The Falkreath plot is great for a new character since you can get it within a couple of days of arriving in Skyrim. In fact, for most of my characters since getting HF, I have pretty much stuck to living in the HF homes rather than the city homes. The HF homes have all my crafting/storage/display needs in one place. Plus, as an alchemist, having that garden is great.

Do you play on console or PC? When you started the new HF character, did you delete the older, high-level one?
