When you start a new character do you ...

1. Repeat the main questline?
2. Rejoin some of the factions/guilds?
3. Repeat the same quests?

Besides my Nord dragonborn warrior and my Khajiit assasin , I really want 2 more characters (more could come in the future), one of them a female Orc Necromage I already have (lvl 6) and I also want to make a pure breton mage in the future.

Something keeps me from playing my new Orc battle necromage and from creating my breton puremage.

That something is called : repetition. I hate repeating the same content, I hate having to repeat the same quests radiant or main and this is what keeps me from making new characters. Its about replayability. I have not spoiled the College of WInterhold quests, gonna keep them for my puremage but what about my Orc battlenecromage? , I know you guys will say : join the DB , but Ive already joined it on my Khajiit assasin.

Seriously guys I love Skyrim and I want to play new characters but how the hell do I deal with replayability?

Thanks so much

I try to do things differently. Thing is, I rarely play the main quest past becoming Dragonborn and I have only once gone through past Whiterun in the civil war line. As for factions, it depends on my playstyle but in general I rarely do twice the same thing in a row.

The only thing I do the same in every playthrough is rush to the mine with lots of mammoth tusks for easy gold. After that, it's always different.

I consider Bleak falls barrow to be the tutorial, for the most part. In the Vanilla game, mind you. Otherwise I'm using Live Another Life and starting somewhere else. Always choose the "Left for Dead" option...lol

I only progress the MQ to get the Dragons Started or use an instant Dragons mod. I have yet to do the CW questline and have only completed the MQ once in 2500 hrs of gameplay.

For all of my three characters I have maintained the same (or at least a very similar) start. That is: escape Helgen, go to Riverwood, speak to Ralof/Alvor, talk to Lucan, go to Bleak Falls Barrow, go to Whiterun.

Mainly because doing this gives me some starting gold, levels up some combat skills, and gives me a few pieces of equipment and loot to sell.

1. Sometimes. I have created four long-term characters. All of these were Dragonborn - three completed the MQ, and one never went to see the Greybeards. My next character won't be Dragonborn at all. Note that one of the Dragonborn characters didn't go to Bleak Falls Barrow until after a long time, so no dragons for almost half that playthrough.

2. Sometimes. I've joined the Stormcloaks three times, finished the questline once (soon twice). Done the Legion questline once, so all in all, I've done the Civil War three times of four. Next character won't touch it. So far, I've only done Companions, CoW and TG once, but the next character will be my second time through TG (first time was a year ago, so it's been a while). I'll probably do the other factions again (as well as the ones I haven't done yet), in due time.

3. Sometimes (see the pattern? ;)). I tend to do some quests with all characters (like Sanguine's quest, or the Forsworn Conspiracy/Cidhna Mine quests), but in general I try to vary myself. And of course, they won't be in the same order, or done at the same level, or in the same playstyle, so most don't really feel repetitive.
