Is Bethesda dropping the ball by not releasing Prey 2?

It seems to me that when Prey 2 was first shown at E3 it was the only game that had a Blade Runner-Fifth Element type city as a setting. So with games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Remember Me on the horizon I can't help but ask, has Bethesda held the release of Prey 2 for to long?

Even though the game play of FPS (Prey 2) verse 3rd person(Remember Me) and an RPG(Cyberpunk 2077) are quite different it has always been Prey 2's setting that has drawn my attention.

Prey 2 could have been on the cutting edge of this genre. Now that I will be getting this experience from Remember Me in a matter of months it weakens Prey 2's uniqueness and it's appeal.

I just hope that Bethesda have been working really hard on it. When it was initially scheduled for release, there were a couple of games with elements cyberpunk (Syndicate, Deus Ex). I think the thing that makes Prey 2 safe against the competition is that it's an open world game with unique mechanics. Cyberpunk 2077 will be awesome, but it probably won't ship until 2015. It's a shame that Remember Me will be out before it. Let's hope that despite a lack of history with ID Tech, Arkane is working on it and we'll see some news before too long.
