You are right about this being a strange place to ask, but I'll answer anyway.
If you felt a shock from the mouse then you most likely zapped some of the micro components inside the mouse. Most of the small circuits in there can only take 3V3 or 5V. Voltage levels from a static shock are usually a LOT higher than 3.3 or 5 (like 1000+) so you most likely killed it.
How long ago did you buy the mouse? They should have a standard year warranty and will probably be happy to replace it if you are still within the warranty period.
I got it as long ago as early last year.

The warranty is definetly up. So I guess I need a new mouse, any suggestions? Preferably not expensive and won't die just because I touched it.
