Once and for all; how many megaservers will there be?

Post » Wed Jan 30, 2013 7:23 pm

1 or 2?

I've heard people talk about "one" mega server, and then i've heard people talking about "two" megaservers (1 for EU and 1 for US). Reading from their FAQ they make no mention of two megaservers but it's not quite clear as they may just be saying "Instead of multiple servers/zone we have one massive server", and I was fairly sure there were going to be two. Can someone provide a link to an interview or anything so I can know for sure which it is?

Yeah us down here should be good to go so long as they place the US megaserver on the West Coast USA :twirl:

So... can't say it's a direct source from a developer, but at least it's something fairly close to it. Yet again they said "the mega-server" and then they go one to say "one mega server/region"... I suppose what they mean to say in the end is that there'll be two... Still, thanks for the link, suppose it's fair to say it'll be two. Would be nice to hear it from a dev though, but you can't always be too picky.

"In order to create the best social experience possible for the player, the Elder Scrolls Online was designed from the ground up with one specific server type in mind, the Mega-Server. A single collective server will power the world of TESO, eliminating the need for multiple shards/realms, eliminating the frustrating queue experience and ghost towns, and allowing the player to easily group up with their friends at any given time. (There will be one Mega-Server per Geographical Region. US / Europe)"

I love how the first two posts contain different answers.

Felt like the point of this thread got justified :P

I'm an East Coaster myself, but thats good middle ground and it's only fair. I like the Oceanic bunch anyway.
