Steam Problem...Need Suggestions please

Post » Fri Feb 01, 2013 10:06 am

I'm not an expert on Steam.I do have a problem. I have been playing SKYRIM for 5 weeks. Now I have a problem. I went to log into the game last night and unexpectedly steam asked for my password.I thought I knew what it was but my guesses were never right. I asked on steam for a password reset and steam said it would send a reset to my email.I never got the email to reset my password sent to me. I filed a notice with STEAM "customer service"..24 hours and only an auto response saying I will hear from them. The company hides their phone number so I can't call. So as of now I am dead in the water.
Perhaps I don't understand the ins and outs of steam ? Maybe I really am in serious trouble. What I do know is...right now I'm not playing a great game...and STEAm customer service is non existant.

i would appreciate the help of those in the know to tell me I'm really stuck..or perhaps there's a simple (unobvious for me) solution.
(I'm playing SKYRIM. I use several mods (including a SKE script).

Any help would be most appreciated.

Unfortunately that is just the way Steam is and there is nothing that can be done until Steam support gets back to you (unless you remember the password) -- It could be that someone got a hold of your password and went into the account and changed the password and the default e-mail account so that they receive the e-mail instead of you - so you may have to prove the account is yours so hopefully you have the needed info.

This sounds like a very long process !(who in their right mind would ever buy something on steam and be at their mercy with this terrible service ! ? ) Would opening a new steam account work ? Would the game detect the new account and run....or is THE GAME.....actually linked to the account I cannot access ?

The game is tied to a single account. Steam Support is the only help you'll be able to get. In my experience, they're pretty damn good.
