Who here has seen a game they knew was going to be released soon, but blew it off because other games in that series were a huge disappointment, only to later play it and it's fantastic?

When I heard Farcry 3 was coming out soon I didn't even bother with it because Farcry 2 wasn't that great. The AI bothered me and the story was lame, amongst other things. I decided to purchase it after reading a few reviews and it was a huge improvement from its predecessor.
