PyFFiPython help (or other alternative to setting 1000 .nif

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1420442-relzwipz-armoury-of-tamriel-thread-17-v2-soon/page__p__21727670#entry21727670 has hit a bit of a bump in that we have several hundred armor .nif files that we need to edit values and no sane way of doing it.

The original plan was to use PyFFi to edit the texture paths of the .nif files, but after a few weeks of trying I've had no success. I'm using the correct versions of PyFFI (2.2) and Python (3.2), but nothing I've tried has resulted in anything but spitting out another error.

I'm more than willing to admit (and am hoping) that this is more likely than anything to do with a complete lack of programming experience, but at this point I think I've read every tutorial and forum post google can find and am still clueless.

Are there any kindly Python vets out there who can give me a nudge in the right direction, or any other method for batch editing .nif files anyone knows about?
