Issues present a year after release

Post » Sat Feb 02, 2013 7:57 pm

I wanted to make this thread to make Bethesda (more) aware of problems that plague the enjoyment of the game still a year after release.
I feel that most of the issues I will adress are as easily fixable as switching a button and as such this thread is meant to raise awareness.
I have asked moderators for a reply. Not getting any assume that it is ok to repost this.
Please forum go-ers remember that this is an opinion formed from playing the game over a year.
Please Bethesda:

- Dropped enemy weapons do not despawn.

This leads to savegame bloat. This leads to everyone interested in playing Skyrim past the 200hr mark has to be a janitor from day one. Picking up dropped enemy weapons and placing them in a despawning container.

- Enemies are set to respawn when they absolutely should not be.

The giant named spider under Markath respawns. The Forsworn at Kolskegger mine respawn leading to the death of the miners next time youre in the area.
The draugr at the sinkhole respawn. Dragons at word walls respawn but will give no new souls. Please, just set this respawn to 'no'.

- Please, please, please, I should not have to carefully scan each boss-chest in order not to pick up any books that the Orc from the College might want.

I am literally forced never to use 'take all.' I must see all that is there and choose to leave any book I see in there in order not to have it stuck forever, worse, all same books I pick up everafter as well.

Im no expert on programming but I have no reason to assume any of these will lead to great stress on Skyrim performance while at the same time they will enjoy enjoyment a thousand fold.

If I didnt have to pick up every fallen enemies weapon anymore.. I would be so happy..

As I said earlier, I fully agree. The first two issues in particular are big ones - I'd love to have them patched. The third one would be good too, but it's one I've not run into - or at least, I don't think I have.

You ready posted this.

And it was locked after being derailed by other users ...

I know.
It got locked due to things that i would prefer this thread not to be tainted with.
So lets be rational and civil.

We all know that dropped enemy weapons not despawning is detrimental to each and every of our playthroughs.
I would like to adress these kinds of issues with the game, in hope that there will be a fix.

Don't forget the giant near Largashbur that also respawns after the associated quest is over, and ends up killing all of the Orcs in that stronghold.

And of course there's still the never-vanishing ash piles that have been present in Bethesda games since at least Fallout 3.

Oh, sorry. I wasn't at the forums when it was locked. Apologies.
