I really hope these sorts of things are in, in some fashion. I loved it WoW when you'd fly over an area and see 10 Iron Wolf Clan battle standards in the ground. Its a way of showing off your guild and creating reputation for your guild. "Remember that the "Blah Blah Blah" Guild defeated you today. Remember that name" And in this case image, when your whole guild is decked out in tabards and such.

Banners and emblems of all kinds are great. Collars are what slaves wear.
