I recently made a Youtube account, but for some reason it's using my real name. How do I switch it from using my real name to a username?

It seems to me like they're trying to get rid of nicknames, and want their users to use their real names instead. YouTube has been trying to make me change my name to my real one as well, even though I told them I didn't want to.

So I can't change to a username? I swear man, Youtube is getting on my nerves.

They already got on my nerves a year ago... i closed my account.

I'm hating Youtube more and more these days. I wonder if Veoh is viable?

Did you check the account settings? I already have a username, so I don't have the option, but it should be there somewhere.

Try clicking the "advanced" link in the name section of account overview.

Try logging out of Google+

For me, it never uses my real name. (Well, not intentionally at least, since my username IS my last name, but you get the point...)

All I had to was disconnect my Youtube account from my Google+ account and I was able to change it.
